Kaymu.pk,
an online marketplace, recently conducted a successful entrepreneurship
workshop for women; to encourage and empower them to enter Pakistan’s economic
system. The workshop was organized at Kaymu.pk’s Karachi office to educate
women about the possibilities of E-commerce and how Kaymu.pk can help them
become successful entrepreneurs.
This workshop was organized
as part of Kaymu’s ‘Women Entrepreneurship Drive’ which is
an attempt to provide women in Pakistan with a sustainable platform to build
their businesses.
United Nations (UN) states
that only 3% of Pakistani women are part of the financial system, which is
clearly a very low percentage. Online platforms like Kaymu can help change this
as female entrepreneurs can even establish a successful businesses from the
comfort of their home.
The workshop saw a number
of women register to become a seller on Kaymu’s platform, and they urged Kaymu
to organize further such workshops to help them establish their businesses. The
workshop also provided women with an insight into the dynamics of Pakistan’s
online world.
The ecommerce industry as a
whole should work to educate women on the opportunities that online platforms
bring. We need to start integrating women into Pakistan’s growing ecommerce
landscape.
